HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
This vine comes from the Bordeaux area of France, and more precisely from the Gironde, a wine-growing area that straddles the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Arrived in Friuli in the late 1800s, this vine is cultivated everywhere, occupying the second place, in terms of quantity, among the red grape varieties.
WINE
We harvest the grapes at full phenolic ripening. After a short pre-fermentation maceration on the skins, we eliminate most of the grape seeds before alcoholic fermentation. The result is a wine with a moderate astringency in the mouth, a great elegance and drinkability. The characteristic herbaceous flavor combined with a moderate freshness make Cabernet Franc a young, intense and penetrating wine, so much so as it seems to have the grapes in the mouth.
